Once my chemo was done in April, flew to London 3 days later for a cruise.  It had been planned before the diagnosis.  Friends from college joined us.  In London, we had two nights before the cruise.  My friend Maria from college had flown earlier that week and was at the hotel.  Also my cousin, Marian, from Nottingham came down.  Marian is the cousin I have the best relationship with. After divorce in 1961, her mother took her back to England, we reconnected 30 something years ago when I went to London for a weekend break from a stressful job.  Was a good visit, did get to see Charles, the Queen, Princess Di, and the Queen Mother.

Our hotel was in Mayfair and very nice, The Cavendish Hotel. We hung out on that Saturday, went to a nice pub, The Red Lion.  Most had Fish 'n Chips with Mushy Peas, what else do you order.  Walked around to Piccadilly Circus, then back to the hotel.  Spent the evening chatting.

Marian left Sunday, and we went to The British Museum, hired a private guide.  My friend Flavia, who I had worked with in Ft. Lauderdale joined us.  She was living in London at the time.  Great visit.  After the museum, we walked around the corner and had an early dinner at a tapas style restaurant.

On Monday, took a shuttle to Southampton to catch the cruise, and meet up with Julie.  Was an easy check-in, once on board, had lunch and met up with Julie.

More in next post.
